I had the pleasure accompanying my grandson and his boyscout troup for a two night stay on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. I can say this it was a unique experience to sleep in the quarters that the enlisted men slept in, while it was possible to get some sleep it was way different from the comforts of home. This World War II carrier had a treat at every corner on every deck. There was lots of history on that ship combined with movies and documentaries. The ship is located on Patriot’s Point just outside of Charleston S.C. There was a destroyer and a submarine too.
On a trip this past spring we visited some of the attractions on the streets of Charleston. This youngster was having fun staying cool on a warm day.
I am always looking to learn something new, here I layered and older shot with a new one. They just seemed to go together.
It seems that their are more and more abandoned cats showing up, while I can’t care for all of them, I always try to give a hungry cat a meal. yes I regret it later because my cats fight with them on occasions. I’ll break it up and all is well. I have four cats all were stray’s except for our oldest cat which was born in the factory that we worked at. So we brought him home and its been that way ever since.
The cardinal is the only thing that is red in this cherry tree.
Well its been a while since I posted, its been a long summer and I have been laid up for a while recovering from an accident. Happy that things are returning to near normal and glad to be back with my photography. Here’s Bella with those pretty eyes taking a peek around her favorite tree.
